The Estate
Kilchoan Estate is a cultural and educational enterprise dedicated to restoration, education and spirituality. Spanning 1,500 acres, we are actively restoring habitats, developing gardens and caring for heritage-breed livestock.
Daily Operations
The estate comprises multiple properties across the site, ranging from the owners’ private residence to a newly developed cabin complex designed to accommodate research students, artist residencies and visiting guests.
Our team currently consists of twenty full-time employees working across a range of departments, including gardens, estate operations, buildings and maintenance, administration and housekeeping.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Residential Housekeeper and Cook.
The primary focus of the role will be the cleaning and upkeep of estate properties. Catering will be required for several weeks of the year when the owner and guests are in residence.
The role is based on 40 hours per week. Flexibility is essential during periods when the owner is in residence.
A full driving license and the right to work in the UK is required..
Key Responsibilities
Housekeeping
- Deliver high-quality housekeeping across all estate properties under the direction of the Head Housekeeper
- Prepare and change over guest accommodation
- Operate and manage laundry facilities
Catering
- Provide catering for the owner and guests
- Plan menus, manage budgets and source ingredients
- Prepare, cook and serve meals
- Experience catering for groups of up to 10 people is desirable
Training & Development
