Job Description

We are a working farm estate near Spalding, Lincolnshire, looking for a junior live-in couple to join our small, friendly team. You will be working alongside an experienced senior couple who manage the day-to-day running of the property, reporting to them and working as part of a well-organised team on a rota basis.

This is a brilliant opportunity for a couple who are earlier in their domestic career and want to develop their skills in a supportive, structured environment — with real variety in the role and a lovely place to call home.

Accommodation

You will have your own self-contained one-bedroom annexe attached to one of the barns. Unfortunately no pets or dependants.

About the Property

The estate owners do not reside on site full-time but visit once or twice a month, typically over weekends. The main house is thoroughly cleaned following each of their visits, so day-to-day housework there is minimal and manageable.

The heart of the role centres on two holiday cottages on the estate, which are let to guests on a weekly basis. You will be responsible for the housekeeping and changeovers of these cottages at the end of stays — ensuring they are spotlessly presented and ready to welcome each new set of guests. When the senior couple are off-rota or unavailable, you will manage these changeovers independently, so reliability and a good eye for detail are essential.

The role covers a broad range of domestic and hospitality duties, including:

  • Holiday cottage housekeeping — cleaning, laundry, and preparing the cottages to a high standard at each changeover
  • Guest communications — taking bookings, answering the phone, and being a friendly and professional first point of contact for arriving guests
  • Main house cleaning — carried out after the owners' visits
  • General estate upkeep — supporting the senior couple with day-to-day tasks as required

Working hours are generally 8am to 5pm with a break, though you will be trusted to manage your own time sensibly around the needs of the property. This is not a clock-watching environment so we want someone who takes pride in the place and gets on with things.

Equestrian knowledge is an advantage but not necessary.

The estate has three horses, which are cared for by a dedicated groom. You will not be required to look after them directly, but any knowledge of horses or an equestrian background would be a genuine advantage and is very much welcomed.

What We Are Looking For

  • A couple with some domestic or hospitality experience — junior applicants prepared to take instruction encouraged, full training and support provided alongside the senior couple
  • A cheerful, willing attitude and a genuine team-player mentality
  • Good communication skills — you will be speaking with guests and representing the estate
  • Comfortable managing your own time and taking initiative when needed
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and presentable
  • Right to live and work in the United Kingdom — essential for both applicants
  • Equestrian knowledge is an advantage but not required
