Overview

Our client is looking for a skilled and meticulous Live-in or Live-out Housekeeper for their rural estate, located in West Oxfordshire.

The ideal candidate will take pride in maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming environment, ensuring the highest standards of housekeeping for the large residence. There is also responsibility for the housekeeping of two further estate properties.

The Principal and family will be residence on the weekends and during the holidays.

Start date: 1st October 2024.

Job duties:

Responsibilities of the Live-in or Live-out Housekeeper in West Oxfordshire:

  • Perform daily and deep cleaning tasks throughout the residence, including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and common areas
  • Handle all laundry needs, including washing, ironing, and organising wardrobes. Ensure linens and clothing are well-maintained
  • Prepare guest rooms for visitors and ensure their comfort during their stay
  • Assist with grocery shopping and, if required, support the Chef with meal preparation and serving
  • Ensure the interior of the residence is well-maintained, reporting any issues or repairs to the House Manager
  • Maintain clear communication with the employer regarding household needs, supplies, and any necessary maintenance

Candidates must be/have:

  • Proven experience as a Housekeeper in a 5* private household / on a superyacht
  • A team player with meticulous attention to detail
  • A valid UK driving licence
  • Proficient in laundry care, including ironing and garment maintenance
  • Strong communication skills
  • Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and tasks
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality

Accommodation

If live-in, a large, five bedroomed farmhouse will be provided, a short walk from the main house. This will be shared with other staff members.

Hours

Full-time hours between Wednesday and Monday – shift pattern to be discussed at interview stages.

Location

West Oxfordshire.
