Own Cottage – M – F £75-£85K

Family Description and Location

A British family with 3 children between 10 and 14 and their labrador are looking for an experienced hands-on couple to oversee the running of their home. The estate is attached to a working farm which is a business and run separately by the principles so need an experienced couple to take the helm and ensure that the house is run smoothly. The house is surrounded 3 acres of formal gardens mainly beds and lawns and also an indoor pool. You will work alongside a Live in housekeeper/Cook who shares the chores with you. The Estate is in a Village 10 minutes’ drive from Sherborne which is a flourishing market town with all the usual amenities.

Job Description

Your role will be to manage and maintain the house and its direct surrounds to a high standard.

 

  • Housekeeping
  • Laundry & ironing
  • Changing of bed linen
  • Driving including errands and school runs in the afternoon.
  • Family cooking – generally dinner for the family to be left on the stove.
  • General outdoor maintenance, DIY
  • Plantroom maintenance
  • Jet washing patios
  • Maintenance of garden furniture
  • Pool Maintenance
  • Dealing with contractors and all deliveries

Candidate Requirements

It is essential that you are an experienced couple that are happy to live in a rural environment and that you both have driving licences.  You will both need to be team players and work harmoniously with the existing team. You will need written checkable references and be able to work independently and autonomously as the principles do not want to micromanage. You will need to read and write English to a very good standard.

Days of Work, Accommodation and Salary

  • Separate 2/3 bedroom fully furnished cottage in the village a short walk from the house. (Not suitable for dependents)
  • Pets will be considered.
  • Can start now (latest start February)
  • Monday – Friday
  • 40 hour working week
  • Start and finish times with be between 8am – 6:30pm with a lunch break and appropriate pauses. (late and early start to be alternated with the other housekeeper)
  • Any overtime worked will be given as time off in lieu.
  • Car for use on duty.
  • £75K-£85K dependent on experience, skill set and references.
